FSA 578 & CRP Certification

Does your farm have CRP on it?  Annual crop acreage certification on a FSA-578 also means Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) acreage certification.  By certifying CRP acreage on a FSA-578 you are certifying that the CRP acres are in compliance and eligible to receive your annual CRP payment.  Make sure your CRP is in compliance prior to crop certification to avoid noncompliance situations. Noncompliance could result in the termination of the contract and repayment of all monies received plus interest and liquidated damages.

Failed & Prevent Planting Reporting

As a reminder..... Please notify your crop insurance agent and/or your FSA office as soon as you know you will have a prevent plant or failed acreage claim.  Do not destroy failed acreage until reported.  Timely reporting these situations is crucial to keeping accurate crop reports for future program benefits.  Please call if you have any questions.

2013 ACRE Program Requirement

2013 ACRE participants are required to file 2013 crop production by July 15th.  Don't remember if you are in ACRE?  Call the office and we will check for you.  We also have the required FSA-658 forms prefilled for your convenience. Please contact the office and supply us with your 2013 production.  We accept  e-mailed and faxed FSA-658's.  Please take note of our NEW FAX NUMBER.
*Reminder - All production needs to be in dry bushels.

Direct Loan Program Changes

Changes to FSA regulations as a result of the 2014 Farm Bill were made to the interest rate charged on loans where FSA provides 50 percent or less of the financing on jointly financed purchases of real estate, also called Direct Farm Ownership Participation Loans. The interest rate will be the greater of 2.5 percent or the current interest rate for direct Farm Ownership loans minus 2 percent, as a fixed rate for the duration of the loan.  At present, the April direct Farm Ownership rate is 4.25 percent.  Because the 2.5 percent floor is greater than subtracting 2 percent from the direct farm ownership loan rate, the rate for Direct Farm Ownership Participation Loans in April is 2.5 percent
