The Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) administers certain provisions of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 (LMRDA) which primarily establishes standards for private sector labor organization democracy and financial integrity, and requires reporting and public disclosure of labor organization and other reports. OLMS also administers related laws that apply similar standards of conduct to Federal sector labor organizations. OLMS' primary mission is to ensure labor organization democracy, promote financial transparency, and detect and investigate embezzlement of labor organization funds and other criminal and civil violations of the LMRDA. This position is located in the DOL, OLMS, New Orleans Office, in New Orleans, LA. Relocation expenses will not be paid. The full performance level of this position is GS-12. Promotion Potential: There is no obligation to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and supervisory approval. This position is inside the bargaining unit. There is only one position which may be filled in either as a Investigator (Labor) or Criminal Investigator in New Orleans, Louisiana. The incumbent serves as a Human Resources Specialist (Labor Relations) in the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Office of Administration, Division of Human Resources and Organization Management, Branch Employee and of Labor Relations, whose primary purpose is to provide operational and policy guidance and services to BLS managers and supervisors regarding labor relations. The BLS is the principal fact-finding agency for the Federal Government in the broad field of labor economics and statistics. The BLS is an independent national statistical agency that collects, processes, analyzes, and disseminates essential statistical data to the American public, the U.S. Congress, other Federal agencies, State and local governments, business, and labor. The BLS also serves as a statistical resource to the DOL. This position has no further promotion potential. This position is outside the bargaining unit.
