The Office of Labor-Management Standards (OLMS) administers certain provisions of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act of 1959 (LMRDA) which primarily establishes standards for private sector labor organization democracy and financial integrity, and requires reporting and public disclosure of labor organization and other reports. OLMS also administers related laws that apply similar standards of conduct to Federal sector labor organizations. OLMS' primary mission is to ensure labor organization democracy, promote financial transparency, and detect and investigate embezzlement of labor organization funds and other criminal and civil violations of the LMRDA. Age Restriction: This is a LEO position covered by the special retirement provisions for law enforcement officers. Incumbent must have completed work in a primary LEO position or must be no older than 37 at the point they are hired and report for duty and must retire at age 57. May work at remote sites at irregular, unpredictable or unscheduled hours. Requires working for prolonged periods of time without adequate rest to satisfy stress-provoking time constraints. Travel is sometimes necessary in severe weather on remote roads, in hazardous areas or under hazardous conditions, for up to three weeks at a time. Physical strength is required for lifting and transporting voluminous records. Basic Law Enforcement Training- Investigators must successfully complete the criminal investigator training course at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC), unless waived by OLMS because of proof of comparable law enforcement training.

This position is located: U.S. Department of Labor/Bureau of Labor Statistics, Office of Field Operations, Division of Price Programs,Branch of Consumer Price Index Programs in Madison, WI. This position has promotion potential to GS-7. Promotion Potential: There is no obligation to provide future promotions to you if you are selected. Future promotions are dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and supervisory approval. - This position is inside the bargaining unit. - Relocation costs will not be paid. Assigned work may be located throughout the Madison, WI Metropolitan Area. The initial average hours per week is 20. Hours may fluctuate based on workload and training requirements.
