Change and challenge

An ongoing robust conversation about the future of work is underway at the department. Secretary of Labor Tom Perez kicked off a symposium that included discussions of the gig or on-demand economy and how to ensure fair treatment of workers.

The Department of Labor is climbing in the annual rankings of the Best Places to Work in the Federal Government. Greater employee engagement translates to greater effectiveness and efficiency for the millions who receive and benefit from the department's services.
