U.S. Department of Labor representatives will be available in two sessions in Niagara Falls, New York, on Dec. 2, 2015, to assist former nuclear weapons workers with the filing of new claims and provide status updates on existing claims under the Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Program Act. Division of Energy Employees Occupational Illness Compensation Cleveland District Office staff will provide information about the EEOICPA, the medical benefits available under the program, and the new Special Exposure Cohort that gives former Hooker Electrochemical Corp. workers easier access to compensation.

Following an investigation by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs, Aramark Education Services LLC has entered into a conciliation agreement to resolve claims of systemic hiring discrimination. OFCCP found that the contractor discriminated against 335 male and African-American applicants for food service worker positions with Aramark, a federal contractor in Lubbock.

The four-year project, called "Eliminating Child Labor in Cocoa," will assist 50 cocoa-growing communities in Côte d'Ivoire to design and implement Community Action Plans to address child labor at the community level. The project will directly support the protection of at least 5,450 vulnerable children engaged in or at risk of child labor by providing them formal and non-formal educational opportunities, and increasing access to school feeding programs. It will also provide livelihood services to 1,500 vulnerable households in these communities.
