The funding will be used to extend 230 temporary jobs to assist with the clean-up and recovery efforts in the aftermath of severe storms in Colorado in September 2013. Colorado counties of Adams, Boulder, and Larimer were severely impacted by the storms that triggered catastrophic flooding, landslides, and mudslides across a 1,918-square-mile area. A significant amount of debris had to be cleared from roadsides, parks, trails, culverts, and other areas to ensure public safety. This NEG was originally approved for up to $4,609,937, with $2,304,986 released initially. This increment will bring the total NEG funds awarded for this project to $3,887,289.
