As seen through a night-vision device, U.S. soldiers conduct a night fire exercise using 81 mm mortars for illumination training on Forward Operating Base Lightning in Afghanistan's Paktiya province, March 21, 2014. The soldiers are assigned to the 10th Mountain Division's 71st Calvary Regiment, Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Brigade Combat Team.
