U.S. sailors transit the Arabian Gulf aboard a riverine command boat during a training exercise, Jan. 21, 2014. Riverine command boats provide a multimission platform for the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility by focusing on maritime security operations, maritime infrastructure protection, theater security cooperation efforts and offensive combat operations.
