Amphibious assault vehicles prepare to launch from the well deck of amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde during an exercise in the Atlantic Ocean, Dec. 14, 2013. The Mesa Verde sailors and U.S. Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit participated in a composite training unit exercise to prepare for deployment.
