Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel meets with Christine H. Fox, who has been appointed acting deputy defense secretary by President Barack Obama, in his office at the Pentagon, Dec. 4, 2013. Fox assumes her duties, Dec. 5, following the departure of outgoing Deputy Secretary of Defense Ash Carter.
