Deputy Defense Secretary Carter and his staff prepare for their weeklong trip while en route to Israel, July 20, 2013. Carter is scheduled to travel to Israel, Uganda and Ethiopia in sub-Saharan Africa to meet with defense and government leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest.
