General Officer Announcement Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced today that the President has made the following nomination: Army Lt. Gen. Kenneth E. Tovo for appointment to the rank oflieutenant general and for assignment as deputy commander, U.S. Southern Command, Miami, Fla. Tovois currently serving as commander, Combined Security Transition Command Afghanistan/commander, North Atlantic Treaty Organization Training Mission-Afghanistan, Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan.
