July 2, 2013 – ICE's top 10 high profile removals

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) protects the United States by promoting homeland security and public safety through the criminal and civil enforcement of federal laws governing border control, customs, trade and immigration. To accomplish this mission, ICE removes individuals wanted by its foreign law enforcement partners and conducts multi-faceted federal law enforcement operations. Full Story

July 2, 2013 – ICE deports MS-13 gang member wanted for 4 murders in El Salvador

A Salvadoran MS-13 gang member who is wanted in his native country for his role in four murders, was turned over to authorities in El Salvador June 28 by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO).This removal is the latest result of stepped up collaborative efforts to locate Salvadoran criminal fugitives in the United States and return them to El Salvador to face justice. July 5, 2013 – ICE arrests 67 child predators in New York operation

ERO officers arrested 93 foreign-born convicted sex offenders in June in New York through a targeted enforcement initiative known as Operation SOAR (Sex Offender Alien Removal). Of the 93 people arrested, 67 were child predators convicted of sex offenses involving minors. The remaining offenders were convicted of victimizing adults. Full Story

July 1, 2013 – Ex-head of San Diego Customs Brokers Association sentenced for evading duties on millions worth of foreign-made goods

The former president of the San Diego Customs Brokers Association and his corporation have been sentenced for their role in a multimillion dollar commercial fraud scheme to evade paying import duties on goods they imported into the United States. The sentencing is the result of a four-month wiretap investigation led by special agents with ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI); the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Office of Criminal Investigations; and U.S. Customs and Border Protection. July 1, 2013 – Woman convicted of shipping stolen luxury vehicles to Africa

A Brooklyn, N.Y., woman was convicted June 28 for her role as the leader of a ring responsible for shipping dozens of stolen and carjacked vehicles worth more than $1 million from New Jersey to Africa. HSI’s Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) and the New Jersey State Police investigated this case. Full Story
