Registration with SAM.gov is FREE! Don't Pay Unnecessary Fees to Register on the System for Award Management (SAM)

Registration on SAM.gov is completely free of charge. There is no fee for you to register or to renew/update your organization’s information on SAM.gov.

If you use a search engine to find the SAM.gov website, you may come across the websites of private businesses or contractors that will register your organization in SAM for you — for a fee. These websites often will look like government websites at first glance. BUT remember that paying any fee is unnecessary to use SAM.gov and its resources. You can register and update your SAM data on your own by using the resources and Help Desk contacts listed on the AFG website and the SAM.gov website.

The SAM/Federal Service Desk (Help Desk), can be reached toll-free at 1-866-606-8220, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.  Online help, FAQs, and access to the Federal Service Desk are available anytime via www.fsd.gov. Below you will find details about a new resource on SAM: a series of webinars, the first of which will be held on February 26.

Free Webinar on SAM.gov

AFG, Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER), and Fire Prevention and Safety grantees, especially those whose organizations were previously registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) are encouraged to take this webinar training. It will cover essential activities for getting started on SAM. Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to

  • Create a new SAM user account;
  • Migrate permissions from the legacy CCR system in to SAM; and
  • Update/renew an existing registration.

Date and Time: Tuesday, February 26, 2013, 1 to 2 p.m. EST
Register Online: Go to www.gsa.gov/portal/event/form/160683 to sign up.
Webinar Content: The webinar content will be recorded and posted to SAM.gov after the event.

Future webinars are being planned to help grantees and others learn more about using SAM.

Federal Funding Alternative to AFG

State Administrative Agencies (SAA) apply for and administer Federal grants on behalf of their States, including FEMA Preparedness Grants. The SAA will work with eligible organizations to comply with the general requirements of grant programs or cooperative agreements. Contact your State’s SAA to find out what current Federal funding opportunities may be available to your organization. A listing of the SAAs and points of contact can be found at http://www.fema.gov/library/viewRecord.do?id=6363.
