August 4-10 is National Farmers Market Week and USDA has some exciting new resources and updates for everyone interested in eating fresh, seasonal, and locally grown fruits and vegetables. What a convenient resource to help you "make half your plate fruits and vegetables" -- one of the key consumer messages of MyPlate.
At farmers markets, consumers have access to locally grown, farm-fresh produce, and farmers have the opportunity to develop personal relationships with their customers. Don't know where a farmers market is? You can search the database of thousands of farmers markets around the country to find ones near you.

From all of us at ChooseMyPlate, have a happy and healthy National Farmers Market Week!
