APHIS is pleased to announce the implementation of another improvement to process your permit applications more quickly while providing customer-focused service.

This message only applies to permit applications that are processed as draft permits with conditions. Certain types of permits contain draft conditions for movement of your regulated article that you must either accept or, if you cannot meet a condition, you must describe why in your response to APHIS.

You must respond to the conditions of the draft permit within 30 days. You can decrease the total processing time of your permit application by responding as soon as possible.

If you use ePermits, you will be notified by email to access ePermits and enter your responses to the conditions. Or, if you do not use ePermits, APHIS will send your draft permit with conditions to you and you will print the permit form, enter your responses and return the form to APHIS.

If you do not respond within 30 days, we will notify you that we have voided your permit application and will take no further action.  However, if you would like to proceed after we have voided it, you may reopen the process by contacting the appropriate office:

PPQ Form 525 and 526 applications - Pest Permitting Branch 1-866-524-5421 (Pest.Permits@aphis.usda.gov)
