Dear BRS Stakeholder,
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is announcing a determination of nonregulated status for Dow AgroSciences, LLC (Dow) corn and soybeans that are resistant to several herbicides, including one known as 2,4-D. This notice also includes the availability of our written determinations and Record of Decision (ROD).
Notice of these determinations will be published in the Federal Register in the near future. A copy of the Dow petitions, determinations, ROD, and supporting documents can be found on the News and Information page of the BRS website at http://www.aphis.usda.gov/biotechnology/news.shtml.
EPA is nearing completion of its concurrent review of the new use of Enlist herbicide on these GE plants. It is expected that EPA will make its final regulatory decision in the coming weeks.
