New Requirement to Record Your Indirect Cost Rate in eGrants

Dear Colleagues,

As you may have heard by now, the new Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards (Uniform Guidance, now consolidated in 2 CFR Parts 200 and 2205) are well on their way to being implemented in CNCS award and grants management processes.  One of the biggest changes in the Uniform Guidance is relating to indirect cost rates.  To maintain a record of each recipient's chosen method of claiming indirect costs, we established a feature in eGrants for recipients to record the method which they will be using to apply their indirect costs to all CNCS awards.  Recipients must record the indirect cost rate method and rates which they will be using on their awards. Step by step instructions on how to enter indirect cost rate information into your eGrants account may be downloaded on our website, here: eGrants Indirect Cost Rate (IDCR) User Instructions.  Any questions regarding the entry of indirect cost rates into eGrants can be directed to indirectcostrate@cns.gov.

CNCS will continue to communicate with you about the Uniform Guidance and provide information on our website at http://www.nationalservice.gov/resources/uniform-guidance as FAQs are developed and updated. FAQ’s relating to indirect cost rate options are expected to be released shortly.

If you would like to suggest a topic to be addressed in a future grants and financial management bulletin, please also send your suggestions to Brad Lewis, at blewis@cns.gov.
