The Social Innovation Fund is looking for interns. We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated, and self-driven communications intern and a data analyst intern. If you are a creative individual with the ability to take initiative and follow directions, and to execute and work against a deadline, please review the job descriptions here, and send your resume to innovation@cns.gov. New Cohort of SIF Grantees
On Sept. 17th, the Social Innovation Fund will announce our new cohort of grantees! We are excited to introduce the grant making intermediaries that have demonstrated success in finding innovative, evidence-based solutions and scaling them to benefit more people. SIF August Grantee Spotlights: REDF (Community Housing Partnership) & AIDS United (Christie’s Place)
REDF presents a bold solution for ending chronic joblessness in the United States. REDF proposes that jobs and employment opportunities be created for people facing the greatest barriers to work. AIDS United’s Access to Care program connects people living with HIV/AIDS to direct service organizations in their communities that can provide them with the care and support that they need. Aug. 10-12: Head and Heart Philanthropy Summit (Massachusetts) – SIF Director Michael Smith moderated the “Innovation, Impact and Kids of Color: How My Brother’s Keeper is Tapping Social Innovation to Transform Lives” panel. Other panelists included Trabian Shorters, Founder and CEO of BMe; Mitch Kapor and Freada Kapor Klein of the Kapor Center.
Aug. 19: University of Washington’s Advancing Integrated Mental Health Solutions (AIMS) Center – SIF Program Officer Kirsten Breckinridge visited with the AIMS Center, which develops, tests and helps implement an evidence-based integrated care model that brings high quality mental health care to familiar settings. AIMS is a collaborating partner of The John H. Hartford Foundation. Thank you, Diane Powers, AIMS’ Associate Director for Translation and Implementation!
Mile High United Way, along with a consortium of Colorado nonprofits and foundations, collaborated on an initiative to establish a set of shared indicators for Colorado’s communities around education, economic wellbeing, and health. Read the report here.
