Volunteering in America 2013 infographic

Your neighbor. Your mother. The teacher at your son's school.
And you (we hope)!

Millions of Americans make volunteering a priority in their lives.

Our annual Volunteering and Civic Life in America report found that more than one in four adults volunteered in 2012. Collectively, we served 7.9 billion hours, valued at $175 billion.

But our nation's longstanding commitment to volunteering is shared by every generation. For example, teens are volunteering at their highest level in six years, Gen Xers volunteer more than any age group, and folks over 65 serve nearly twice as many hours per year as the general population.

There are a lot more findings in the report, but it wouldn't be as fun just to give them all away right?? So, you can:

  • Check out and share our crisp new infographic (at right)
  • Share your fave volunteering facts on Twitter and Facebook using #VolunteerUSA

And feel free to forward this message to family and friends - let's encourage them to volunteer, too.
