Hello Colleagues and Communicators,
This weekend, football fans nationwide will watch the Ravens and the 49ers go head to head. But there's more on the line than the Lombardi trophy - there's a service day at stake as well.
Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and San Francisco Mayor Edwin M. Lee today agreed on a friendly wager. The winning team's mayor will host the opposing team's mayor for a day-long service project. CEO Wendy Spencer and AmeriCorps members were on hand in Baltimore as the mayors, accompanied by Today Show anchors Natalie Morales and Al Roker, announced the challenge and shared their excitement for the day of service. Special thanks to Mayors Rawlings-Blake and Lee for making service a priority, and to the Today Show staff, national service members, and fans who added excitement to the announcement.
