Dear CNCS Grantees and Partners,

April 30 is a National Day of Action during the spring campaign of America’s PrepareAthon!  As our valued program and partner, we encourage you to participate in the National Service Safety Stand Down.

As always, CNCS is joining the federal government’s effort to increase preparedness among federal agencies and employees.  We encourage you to visit America’s PrepareAthon! and find one of many ways to join the effort.

The Safety Stand Down allows you to take dedicated time to work with your program staff, members, and partners to ensure they are prepared in the face of disasters and emergencies, addressing topics including personal safety and emotional well-being. Here's what you can do:

  • Schedule your Safety Stand Down anytime this month leading up to April 30
  • Register your activity at America’s PrepareAthon! and make your effort count!
  • Share your activity and photos with us at DSU@cns.gov.
  • Send us a list of your participating program's members, and we’ll provide you with an official Certificate of Participation signed by Wendy Spencer.

If you know of any other organizations, programs, or partners that could benefit, please share this email and help introduce or expand their preparedness efforts.

Join the movement alongside all of our CNCS programs and the many thousands of other individuals and organizations around the country! Help us better prepare our homes, neighborhoods, offices, and communities.

Together, we can be more resilient in the face of disaster.
