“Education is the key to success for so many kids. And my goal specifically is to reach out directly to young people and encourage them to take charge of their futures and complete an education beyond high school."

On May 1, 2015, we invite you to join us and show your support for “Reach Higher”, the First Lady's effort to inspire every student in America to take charge of their future by completing their education past high school, whether at a professional training program, a community college, or a four-year college or university.

Many AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, and Social Innovation Fund grantees are working every day to support kids staying in school and on track and to increase access to college and professional training.  Let’s show that support visually on May 1 as part of “Reach Higher”.

Here are two things you can do to inspire more kids to “Reach Higher.”

  • Take a photo of yourself wearing your own college t-shirt and post it on social media #ReachHigher.
  • Organize a signing day ceremony in your community or school to congratulate your students on their college or training program selection.  Share it on social media #ReachHigher.

If you want to follow the activity across the country on May 1, please follow @ReachHigher on Twitter or @ReachHigher2020 on Instagram.

Thank you for helping more kids reach higher and achieve their dreams.
