Howard Shih has agreed to share his expertise in Geographic Information System (GIS) software with the networks. He will be conducting an Intro to GIS webinar on 9/25/ at 2:00pm E.D.T. Please take the time to participate in this webinar conducted by a fellow colleague.
This webinar will provide some basic how-to and tricks to importing Census Bureau data into ArcGIS and creating some basic maps.
He will cover:
· How to download data files from American Factfinder and while file formats to use
· Options for shape files from both the Census Bureau and local sources
· Connecting the data files to the shape files
· Creating basic maps
Knowledge of Census Bureau data products and terminology is helpful.
