Across the borough, we are putting plans in place with our partners to strengthen our response to coronavirus. We are working with Whipps Cross Hospital to discharge all patients as soon as they are clinically safe to do so to help free up to at least 15,000 beds across the entire NHS.
But we need help to do this. If you, or someone you know, are looking to get back into caring the let us know and help us in the fight against coronavirus. We will make sure people have the right equipment, and provide online training. Carers can select working hours to suit their needs and will receive good rates of pay. More information is below.
Stay safe everyone.

Since launching the Community Help Network last week to help our vulnerable residents the response from the community has been fantastic.
So far over 1,850 volunteers have helped pack and deliver 500 food parcels. Additionally, the community has contributed over £12,000 through our crowdfunding campaign - simply amazing, thank to everyone who chipped in.
We're still looking for volunteers to join the Community Help Network - we'd love to hear from you if you are able to lend a hand.

We are looking for residents, volunteers and people wanting to get back into caring who may be looking for short-term paid work to sign up to join our team of care and support workers to help in the fight against coronavirus.
Homecare is having a carer visit you in your own home to help with things such as dressing, medication as well as checking on your wellbeing.
To express an interest email us with your name, postcode and a contact number. For more info visit the Help with Homecare area of our website.

During the Easter holiday, children of key workers will continue to be able to take up childcare in schools and some childcare settings, including the two bank holidays.
Most schools and nurseries in the borough will remain open to provide childcare for a limited number of vulnerable children, and whose parents are designated as keyworkers and those who are unable to make other childcare arrangements.
Please be aware that any childcare offer may take place in an alternative local school. Contact your school or childcare setting to find out what they are offering over Easter.
The government has brought forward a package of measures to protect renters affected by coronavirus. This means no renter in either social or private housing will be forced out of their home.
If you require financial assistance, visit here to see what schemes you may be able to benefit from. You can also see your rights as a renter here.

We are giving families with children with special needs some alternative support to the standard Short Break packages for disabled children.
Waltham Forest would like to offer families the opportunity to purchase equipment and toys such as outdoor play equipment, books, arts and craft materials so they can continue supporting the development, play and stimulation of their children through creativity.
Please see the Waltham Forest Parent Forum website for further details or contact the Short Break Coordinator.
Following Government instructions some Council services are being reduced to ensure the safety of both residents and staff.
A number of services have been affected but we are working hard to ensure that vital services continue. You can get up to date information on our services and how to access them by clicking here.
