On Fridays from 9am to 10am we are launching, in partnership with COG, BMXercise sessions for women who want to try or take up BMX biking.

The first session is free and then the cost is £3 per session. It's a great way to meet like-minded women, as well as getting fit, and having fun in a friendly environment!

All equipment, such as bikes, helmets, and gloves are provided; all we ask is that you wear long sleeves and long trousers that you feel comfortable riding in.

Use the code "FIRSTFREE" to get your first session free.

Under-10 BMX sessions launch this month

Two BMX riders at Cheney Row Park

We are supporting COG to launch BMX sessions for boys and girls under 10 years of age from 3pm to 5pm on Saturdays, starting this spring.

COG already runs training sessions for young people aged 10 to 16 years wanting to develop their BMX bike riding and maintenance skills on most Saturdays, from 1pm to 3pm, using the special BMX track at Cheney Row Park.

The aim is to create Waltham Forest's first BMX team to enter the London Youth Games later this year.

The maximum number of riders for any session is 22 so please let COG know if you will be at the training session.

All equipment, such as bikes, helmets, and gloves are provided; all we ask is that you wear long sleeves and long trousers that you feel comfortable riding in.

Places should be reserved by emailing COG

Help us catch the vandals

Vandalised JCB at Cheney Row Park

Sadly vandals struck at Cheney Row Park last weekend causing significant damage to the contractor’s vehicles on the site as well as turning the portable toilets upside down.

The damage has delayed some of the work at the park as well as costing the contractors money to replace and repair the vehicles.

If you have any information that may help track down those responsible please let Crimestoppers know. You don't have to give your name or any personal details just the information you have.

We are asking residents living near the park to keep an eye out and dial 999 if they see anything suspicious happening there at any time in the future.

Having spent around £1.2 million we want to make sure this park and its facilities are available for people to enjoy for many years to come.

Tell Crimestoppers what you know in complete confidence
