Hello Subscriber,

Council tax freeze for third year in a row

Frozen pound

We've published our proposals for the Council's budget. Our budget proposals commit to freezing council tax for both 2015/16 and 2016/17 - the third year in a row. There's also a number of one-off investments we want to make thanks to careful financial management. These include:

  • £1 million fund to boost high streets and district centres
  • Free swimming for residents over 50 at council pools
  • £1m to run the Community Pride Fund again
  • £650,000 for regeneration in St Georges including help to refurbish the Gower St former youth centre.

Give us your views on the proposals by emailing yourviewsmatter@telford.gov.uk by 8 February or come to one of our budget roadshows.

Your Views Matter

As part of the budget, we want to know what you think is the best thing about Telford and Wrekin and what's your biggest concern in the borough. If you could improve one thing what would this be?

Give us your views in this short online questionnaire - it'll only take a few minutes.

You can make a big difference

Budget piggy bank

There's lots of simple ways that anyone can help with the Council's budget as we have to make further cuts due to cuts in Government grant.

These six simple steps could help make nearly £4 million a year to help protect key services.

Whether it's recycling more, using a council lesiure facility more often or reporting issues online - what could you do?
