27,914 businesses and homes are now able to access the fibre broadband network thanks to action by the Better Broadband for Nottinghamshire programme – the partnership between Nottinghamshire County Council, BT, government and local district councils.

That’s an additional 9,143 homes and businesses since our last update back in December. Latest figures also show that 150 street cabinets are now fibre enabled.

In Cotgrave, the first ‘Exhange Only’ cabinet has gone live, giving a speedier, fibre based service to premises that connect direct to this local telephone exchange.

And people living in Orston, near Bingham, are now entering the online fast lane as they become the latest to get access to fibre broadband as part of the Better Broadband for Nottinghamshire (BBfN) programme.

The fibre broadband cabinet serving the village has become the 150th to go live in the county since the programme began in April last year, providing fibre broadband access for more than 250 properties in the village for the first time ever.

Out and about in your county

We’re spreading the message about the great opportunities fibre broadband offers you to do more online.

In January, the Broadband Team attended the re-opening of Sutton Library and will be joining residents in Southwell to celebrate the re-opening of their local library in March. Why not come along and join us and find out more about what’s happening to bring fibre broadband to your area?

Pictured are Cotgrave residents who got involved in highlighting the arrival of fibre broadband to over 3,500 homes in the area.
