Almost 20,000 businesses and homes are now able to access the fibre broadband network, thanks to action by the Better Broadband for Nottinghamshire programme.
The ambitious landmark was achieved just 10 weeks since 10,000 premises were connected to the network.
In total, 108 street cabinets are now connected to the network with 288 cabinet surveys already completed. The first ‘Exchange Only’ cabinet has also gone live, giving a speedier, fibre based service to premises that connect direct to their local telephone exchange.
Our handy postcode checker can help you pinpoint when your new cabinet is due to go live. Once it does, we’ll update the checker so you know you can order your new fibre service from your chosen Internet Service Provider.
Please remember – to benefit from the better service available from fibre broadband, you must talk to your Internet Service Provider to use the new service. You won’t automatically be upgraded to get the benefits on offer from fibre broadband.
Fibre broadband is already available in: Arnold, Averham, Beeston, Bunny, Burton Joyce, Clipstone, Cotgrave, Collingham, Cropwell Bishop, Cropwell Butler, Epperston, Farndon, Halam, Hucknall, Kelham, Kirkby in Ashfield, Lambley, Lowdham, Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Newark, North Muskham, Ruddington, Sandiacre, Shireoaks, Southwell, Sutton in Ashfield, Upton, West Bridgford and Worksop.

Can you send an email? Do you shop online? Have you watched your favourite shows on the internet?
If you answered 'yes' to any of these questions, then why not consider becoming a Digital Champion and share your experience with those less confident about using a computer in your local community?
We're recruiting Digital Champions on a voluntary basis to provide local contact points of support for those looking to improve their IT skills and take advantage of the benefits of using the internet. Having someone available from the local community can really help encourage people to take their first steps into the digital world.
The level of support you can offer is up to you. If you would like to know more about the role or to volunteer, please contact enquiries.broadband@nottscc.gov.uk
