About the Nottinghamshire Digital Champions’ Network (NDCN)

The Nottinghamshire Digital Champions’ Network (NDCN) is being delivered on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council by Digital Unite. Digital Unite is one of the UK’s main providers of digital skills learning and since its inception in 1996 has helped over 500,000 people engage with digital technologies through their digital inclusion products and services.

The NDCN is a brand new initiative to create, attract and support a team of digital champions across the county who can help residents and businesses get online. NDCN will recruit not only Digital Champions, but also Community Champions and Rural Business Champions.

Over 41,000 premises are now able to access fibre-optic broadband...

Total premises reached

During March and April the better Broadband for Nottinghamshire Team have been really busy delivering more and more fibre enabled cabinets across the county.

As at the end of April, over 41,000 residents and business are now able to upgrade their slow broadband to fibre-optic bringing speed uplifts and improved resilience.

With well over 200 cabinets now live and ready to take orders there’s no time like the present to take advantage of what fibre optic broadband can do for you. Remember, installing the cabinet is only half the story!

Want a faster speed? Upgrade your service!

To benefit from the faster speeds on offer from the fibre-optic cabling being installed across the county as part of the Better Broadband for Nottinghamshire programme, please remember you must upgrade your existing connection. If you don’t, you won’t benefit from the new speeds and all the other benefits on offer. You can do this by either discussing the options with your existing Internet Service provider (ISP) or by reviewing the information on price comparison sites of which there are many.

Over the past few weeks we’ve been able to bring broadband to a number of additional areas or further extended existing coverage in Collingham, Cuckney, East Drayton, East Markham,  Elkesley, Elston, Laxton, Nether Broughton, Papplewick, Sturton Le Steeple, Sutton in Ashfield, Sutton on Trent, Tuxford and West Markham.
