European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF)

A new call for Social Inclusion applications is now open.

'Building Better Opportunities' will provide funding through ESIF and Big Lottery Funding. There are three large projects to be delivered in the D2N2 area (with the total funding available):

• Financial Inclusion  (£3,088,500)
• Multiple and Complex Needs (£4,634,800)
• Towards Work (£7,401,700)

Applicants are likely to be consortia / partnerships as there will only be one succesful bid for each project. Match funding is not needed for this call as this is provided by the Big Lottery. The deadline for applications is 3rd August.

LIFE programme

The 2015 call for action grants for the LIFE programme was launched on 1st June and covers proposals for both environment and climate action sub-programmes. The total budget for project action grants for this call is €240m. Of this amount, €184m has been allocated to project action grants for the sub-programme for environment and €56m to the sub-programme for climate action. At least 55% of the environment allocation will be dedicated to projects supporting the conservation of nature and biodiversity.

Traditional projects include best-practice, demonstration, pilot or information, awareness and dissemination projects. These are funded under one of three strands for the environment sub-programme (LIFE nature & biodiversity, LIFE environment & resource efficiency and LIFE environmental governance and information). For the sub-programme for climate action, traditional project strands are LIFE climate change mitigation, LIFE climate change adaptation and LIFE climate governance & information.

Public bodies, private commercial organisations and private non-commercial organisations (including NGOs) registered in the EU are eligible to apply for LIFE action grants. For further information, application forms and guidance documents go directly to the call page.

Third Health programme

The Third Health Programme aims to support and deliver action aimed at encouraging the uptake of innovation in health, fostering better and safer healthcare, promoting good health and preventing diseases, and protecting citizens from cross-border health threats.

Grants will be for up to 60% of eligible costs, or up to 80% in cases of exceptional utility, or where the gross national income per inhabitant of the Member state is less than 90% of the EU average.

The 2015 Call for Projects is now open with a deadline of 15 September 2015.

Public authorities and public sector bodies in EU Member States are eligible to apply, in particular, research and health institutions, universities and higher education establishments.

The general objective of the Programme is to work with Member States to encourage innovation in healthcare and increase the sustainability of health systems, to improve the health of the EU citizens and protect them from cross-border health threats.

Interreg programme

The Interreg programme promotes cooperation between EU regions on issues such as Research & Innovation; SME Competitivenes; Low Carbon Economy; and Environment & Resource Efficiency. There are three sub-programmes relevant to Nottingham:

• Interreg IVC - which covers all the EU
• Interreg North Sea
• Interreg North West Europe
