Today's Forecast

It will be dry today with variable, but often rather large amounts, of cloud around, as well as a few bright or sunny spells at times. It will continue to be dry overnight with broken cloud and occasional clear spells. RST's are forecast to fall below freezing in any clear spells, although they are likely to fluctuate as cloud comes and goes. Dew points are expected to remain below the RST throughout the night and morning, meaning that the roads should remain dry and frost free.

Outlook for the next four days (forecasts run from midday to midday)
Saturday Rather cold but mostly cloudy and generally dry(a few light showers about). Enough clearer intervals overnight to allow RSTs to fall near to or below zero.

Sunday

Another cold and largely cloudy day on Sunday and again the odd light shower about until evening (perhaps some sleetyness). Some clear spells are likely overnight into Monday with very little wind, allowing a frost and perhaps some shallow fog patches. A dry, bright morning but clouding over later. .

Monday

and

Tuesday

Mon-Tues
Bright at first but cloud and the breeze gradually increasing through the period and rain arriving by about midnight. (Perhaps some short-lived sleetyness as the rain arrives). The lowest RSTs are likely to be in the evening. Becoming quite wet and windy overnight(and less cold), this clearing away during the morning to brighter, cooler weather with a few showers.
Tues-Weds
Breezy and cool with sunny or clear intervals and a scattering of mostly light showers

Please Note: The colour code used for the headings for these forecast refer to the weather forecast and not the need to grit.

RED - The weather will cause road surface temperatures (RSTs) to fall or stay below zero.
AMBER - The weather may cause road surface temperatures (RSTs) to fall below zero.
GREEN - The weather will not cause road surface temperatures (RSTs) to fall below zero.
