Nottingham City Leisure Centres have a number of exciting opportunities for Assistant Swimming Instructors and successful applicants will join teams working across the city to support in delivering high quality lessons.

Nottingham Swim School is Nottingham City Council’s Learn to swim programme for babies, children and adults and includes all ability levels. We are currently looking to recruit enthusiastic, knowledgeable and qualified swim instructors (both Level 1 and 2) to join our existing team of Swim Instructors across the city of Nottingham. Nottingham Swim School operates from 7 pool facilities across the City and we have various hours at our centres.

Nottingham Swim School follow’s the Amateur Swimming Association’s Learn to Swim Framework. This provides a great structure of Awards for swimmers as they progress through the levels. We offer both group and 121 lessons. Our level 1 instructor’s support the lessons at an entry level including the pre-school and stage 1 lesson by being in the water.

We require applicants to hold the Amateur swimming association Level 1 or 2 swim teachers’ qualification, STA teacher’s award or equivalent. A Lifeguard qualification is preferable but can be gained within the first 3 months of employment.  You will be a positive role model and have the ability to create a fun environment in which to motivate and encourage young people to participate.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

-Level 1 qualification in sports leadership or sports coaching.

-Experience of organising, promoting, coaching & leading sports activities for children and young people.

-Ability to motivate supervise and lead staff to deliver high quality activities.

-To be understanding, approachable and able to appreciate the needs of children and young people.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Solicitor or Barrister to join our busy team.

Your focus will be on child protection advocacy  before all levels of the Family Court judiciary. You will deal with complex and/or lengthy contested hearings on a regular basis. On occasion, you may  undertake adults social care advocacy, e.g:  Court of Protection hearings. You will also  provide legal advice and assistance to the Council in respect of the more complex Social Care matters and support and assist colleagues with the preparation of their cases, where required.

As a result, substantial experience in public law child care and related advocacy is essential, as well as the ability to work on your own and be a team player.

You will bring with you excellent communication, analytical and drafting skills together with the ability to work with minimum supervision.
