Contract Type: Fixed Term – 18 months

The Council is seeking to recruit an experienced commercial lawyer with experience of construction and infrastructure contracts to work within its Contracts and Commercial Team. The role will mainly involve advising on commercial contracts, building contracts,

IT projects, infrastructure projects and procurement issues generally. Many of the transactions will be high value and high profile and will require an ability to deal with officers at all levels of the Council.

The successful candidate will be experienced across all aspects of commercial and contract matters and able to handle a complex caseload without supervision.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Qualified Solicitor or Barrister.

• Highly experienced in all aspects of commercial law especially infrastructure and construction contracts.

• An ability to deal with councillors and officers at all level of the organisation.

• Ability to organise own workload, work under pressure, analyse and make decisions on legal issues with minimum supervision.
