Today's Forecast

It will be a generally dry start with sunny spells this afternoon but from 1500 showers of sleet and snow will spread from the northeast. Through this evening and overnight sleet and snow showers will continue and become more frequent, with local accumulations of 1-3cm possible. It will be very cold, with RST's widely falling below freezing. There will be a risk of ice due to the sleet and snow showers overnight. Further sleet and snow showers through the morning but these will slowly become more isolated. Freeze times have been brought forward in line with snow showers which could temporarily bring RST's below freezing, before falling below and staying below freezing from around 1900 this evening.

Largely sunny and dry with a low risk of isolated sleet or snow showers during the early part of Monday afternoon. Dry, clear and very cold overnight with a widespread sharp frost developing and patchy ice where daytime showers have occurred. Dry and sunny on Tuesday morning.

Dry and sunny on Tuesday afternoon, then clear and very cold again overnight. Cloud will increase on Wednesday morning with a band of rain becoming persistent across the area.

Cloud and rain continuing through Wednesday afternoon, with a low risk of transitory sleet. Similar overnight, then rain easing on Thursday morning with good sunny spells developing. Mostly fine and bright with isolated showers of sleet or snow during the afternoon. Cold and largely dry overnight then becoming cloudier and breezier from the west during Friday morning.
