Welcome to your February Transport Nottingham Newsletter!

This monthly newsletter aims to keep you informed on everything that's going on across Nottingham from walking, cycling, public transport and our Citycard savings to our Major Transport Projects

Nottingham named a "Go Ultra Low" City

On Monday the 25th January Nottingham got the brilliant news that we were successful in our bid to the Office of Low Emission Vehicles to become a Go Ultra Low City. Nottingham is one of four cities to be awarded funding alongside Milton Keynes, London and Bristol.

We were awarded a total of £6.1 million to deliver a package of improvements to make Nottingham a Greener, Cleaner city. The official national launch took place in Nottingham, hosted by the University of Nottingham, where the Secretary of State for Transport Patrick McLoughlin MP was joined by Councillor Alan Clark, the Vice Chancellor of Nottingham University and Councillor Steve Calvert from Nottinghamshire County Council to help celebrate the win.

Southern Corridor consultation commences

Consultation on the second Cycle City corridor starts on the 4th February 2016.

To have your say you can visit the online interactive consultation map and insert your comments, or attend the public consultation event at Clifton Playing Fields on Wednesday the 10th February 2016 between 12pm-7pm where you can meet the team.

Wilford Road improvements

Work started on Wilford Road and Wilford Street on Friday 22nd January as part of the £250 million plan to transform and regenerate the Broadmarsh area. Works continue with temporary traffic arrangements in place until the end of June.

Citylink 1+2 Timetable and fare changes

From 1st February Citylink 1+ 2 bus services undertook a timetable change seeing the frequency for Citylink 1 reduce from 10 minutes to 12 minutes and a change for Citylink 2 seeing the service change from 15 minutes to 20 minutes alongside some fare changes. Travel Centre opening hours

From the 1st February people can get travel information, advice and Citycard services between Tuesday-Saturday. From the 26th February the Victoria Travel Centre will close and all services transferred back to Broadmarsh with the exception of Shopmobility services which will remain in the Victoria Centre car park next to the Cycle hub

Have peace of mind when you Park and Ride

Sing up to the FREE Car Care scheme and have peace of mind when you leave your car with us when you park and ride. The Queens Drive and Colwick Park and Ride sites are patrolled by park and ride attendants, monitored by CCTV and have been awarded the Park Mark Safer Parking Award for safety and security. We just need a few details to sign you up - why not do it today!

Western Cycle Corridor - works update

Works are progressing well on the Western Cycle Corridor as part of the Nottingham Cycle City.

Light Night

Light Night is back this Friday and our partners The Big Wheel and Sustrans are helping light up the city centre once again with a Pedal Powered Party taking place on King Street between 5pm-9pm.

Totally Transport Winners!

November saw lucky prize winners on Ng2 Business Park be presented with their winnings from the Totally Transport event back in the summer.

One winner, Amy Monahan (pictured Centre) from Specsavers on Ng2 was presented with her new Brompton Bike by Diane Simpson, Deputy Chief Executive, East Midlands Chamber of Commerce at a special presentation event.

Another eleven lucky winners won a range of prizes including transport season tickets, sport and theatre tickets.
