Public asked for support in drive to reduce number of smokers

Nottingham City Council is delighted today to announce its new, five-year Tobacco Control Strategy.

The document sets out the aims and objectives of the city's Health and Wellbeing Board as partners across the public sector look to bring down the prevalence of smoking in Nottingham - which is currently well above the national average.

As part of this, a number of summer family events across the city, including, once again, the popular Beach in Old Market Square, will be declared 'smokefree' in a bid to protect children and help people quit the habit.
