Join the Age Friendly Nottingham (AFN) Steering Group

The AFN steering group is a friendly group of older citizens and older people's representatives that is central to Nottingham developing as an age friendly city. It consists of a diverse range of members with a keen interest in improving the quality of life for older people in the city and meets every three months. We are currently refreshing membership of the group so if you would like to be more involved and help set priorities for action, please contact Sharan Jones at sharan.jones@nottinghamcity.gov.uk to discuss the various options.

Age Friendly Nottingham join Facebook

As part of our committment to engage partnership organisations and public citizens AFN have recently joined Facebook to enable us to share information about the ways in which we intend to achieve our city-wide action plan. This is a great opportunity to keep up to date on the work we have done so far and what is to come. Take a Seat Campaign

Older people are encouraging business premises to be more age friendly. Over 100 businesses have now joined the scheme to offer older people a seat if they need to catch their breath when out and about. So if you are in Clifton, Bilborough, Wollaton, Lenton Abbey, Bulwell and Bulwell Forest just look out for our age friendly logo in the window of participating locations. Our List of participating businesses grow daily, to see who has signed up so far, go to http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/article/30241/Take-a-Seat
