Nottingham City Council is expanding its offer of Multisystemic therapy interventions for families in the city with both an MST Standard team and an MST Child Abuse and Neglect team.  Due to this expansion we are looking to recruit an experienced clinician and manager to lead the Multisystemic Therapy (MST) standard team.

Multisystemic Therapy is an evidenced based intervention which is community based and directed at older children, teenagers and their families. The approach is targeted at those families in which the young person is at risk of coming into care or custody and aims to prevent family breakdown, reduce offending and improve educational outcomes. You will supervise a team of four therapists providing MST.

Duties include liaison with key collaborating agencies, ensuring fidelity to the MST model, providing ongoing evaluation and staff development for therapists, interfacing with MST expert consultants and providing overall programme management of the MST team.

You must be available to be part of an on call rota to support therapists implementing MST 24-hours per day, 7 days per week alongside other agency supervisory staff. Ideally you will have specific experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Structural/Strategic Family Therapy or other behaviourally focused evidence based interventions. Significant clinical supervisory level experience preferred.

Ongoing Personal and Professional Development

Full training and continuous professional development in the MST model will be provided.

There will be close links with other MST teams nationally for advice and support and regular booster training sessions.

There is also an MST consultant that provides ongoing skills training to the supervisor and consultation to the team.

There will be opportunities to sustain current professional registration and you will be working alongside another MST supervisor.  Future opportunities to further develop experience in adaptations of MST (e.g. MST CAN) will be available.
