As a HGV Fitter/Mechanic you would maintain, inspect, repair and test the City Councils and external customers’ vehicles and equipment to prescribed standards in accordance with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency guide lines, manufacturer standards and the Councils Operator licence conditions.

The positions will be based at, Eastcroft Depot- London Road Nottingham. Flexibility of working hours is vital to our customer expectations and meeting service delivery targets. We require staff to work an extended day on shifts or nights (Plus allowances)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- We are looking for applicants with a minimum of three years' experience of working in a Commercial or the Public Sector vehicles, and are qualified to the minimum NVQ3/City & Guilds or equivalent standards. MOT tester qualification would be an advantage.

- A current driving licence is essential, with an LGV category C preferred.

- The applicants must demonstrate knowledge of working on a wide range of vehicles, working on their own initiative to manufactures times, completing and operating maintenance systems both written and electronically.

- Attend additional training courses, work shifts and overtime.

- You may also be required to participate in the out of hours call out rota.

To take the lead for the safe functioning of the Joint Fostering and Adoption Panel.  To be responsible for the recruitment, induction, training and performance appraisal of Panel Members. To prepare reports twice yearly on the work of the Panels to the Corporate parenting board. 

Essential Requirements 

 - Quality Assurance of Panel reports before they come to Panel.

 - Working knowledge of current law relating to children's social care and Adoption and Fostering.

 - Working to deadlines.

 - Good communication skills - verbal and written.

This position is subject to a DBS Enhanced check for a Regulated Activity.

There are exciting opportunities for experienced Plant Operations Engineers to work as part of a team of manning the control centre for Enviroenergy - Nottingham City’s Green District Heating Scheme.

Enviroenergy is a unique combined heat & power (CHP) provider serving a substantial domestic and commercial customer base for both district heating and power. The Energy Services Directorate is at the forefront delivering efficient operational services for Nottingham City, alongside Enviroenergy and our own Energy Company, Robin Hood Energy, the organisation specialises in the procurement and delivery of substantial energy capital programmes. Developing a strong commercial identify is key to our development and operating a robust district heating scheme together with serving for expansion is intrinsic to this agenda.

What are we looking for? You will be highly motivated and have demonstrable experience in mechanical/electrical engineering operations, preferably working in a CHP environment or a similar environment. The role will be responsible for the safe and efficient operations of the district heating scheme, maintaining power and steam requirements whilst maximising the generation of electricity compliant with licence and permit requirements.

A flexible approach to the role, including 24/7 control, shift work, early mornings, evenings, weekends and public bank holidays is essential.

We require refuse collectors to work as part of the garden waste collection service for residents across the City of Nottingham. The service operates from April to November and successful applicants will be expected to work flexibly in response to the seasonal variation in garden, residual and recycling waste output.

Operatives are required to work 5 days a week (37 hours) Monday – Friday working as part of a 3 person team.  The role requires the successful applicant to be physically fit, be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and to understand the customer focused environment they are employed in and have the appropriate customer care skills to respond to residents. We are looking for enthusiastic and hard working individuals, delivering an efficient, firendly and high quality service to Nottingham residents.

Successful applicants must be able to work from Eastcroft Depot, London Road, Nottingham NG2 3AH.
