One full time post and one half time post available 

The post involves carrying out assessment of need in relation to disability and eligibility for services in line with departmental policy. Input will include co-ordination and development of care packages for citizens in conjunction with other colleagues, including the assessment and provision of equipment  and adaptations within current legislation. You will have an extensive knowledge of equipment and adaptations in relation to promoting independence and will be committed to working in partnership with disabled people , carers and other professionals. Excellent communication skills are essential. The post holder will also work alongside the Senior Practitioner helping to deliver social care services for citizens and their carers.

The posts are within the citywide OT Enablement Team and could be based at any of the following offices depending on business need - Mary Potter, Bulwell Riverside, Clifton Cornerstone, Aspect  ouse and Newbrook House. 

Essential Requirements

- Diploma/degree in Occupational Therapy and to be registered with Health Professionals Council.

- Ability to carry out complex assessments of need and develop multi-faceted care packages, with a detailed knowledge of risk assessment regarding manual handling.

- Full commitment to the need for CPD and experience of supporting junior colleagues.

- Ability to deal with difficult/demanding people and situations.
