Woodthorpe's Winter Wonderland
Santa’s on his way to Woodthorpe Park Plant Shop for a day of festive family fun on Saturday 12 December. Anyone dreaming of a green Christmas will find a winter wonderland of Christmas trees, plants and gifts at the special event taking place from 9.30am to 3.30pm.
There will also be craft stalls, face painting, roast chestnuts and refreshments.
Notts Performing Arts Red Hot Band will be in session
between 2pm and 3pm playing a wide range of swing band numbers.
The Lord Mayor of Nottingham, Councillor Jackie Morris, will mingle with shoppers from 11am.
Plants, trees, wreaths and more
The new plant shop sits beside Nottingham City Council’s Nursery, hub of the award-winning Nottingham in Bloom campaign.
Plants for sale include vibrant
Poinsettia and Cyclamen grown at the nursery, as well as a wide range of
seasonal plants and shrubs.There’s also
a beautiful selection of fresh and artificial wreaths, floral arrangements,
gifts and displays to decorate the home during the festive season.
Freshly-cut Nordmann Fir
Christmas trees with non-drop needles start from just £32, with a range of
shapes and sizes to suit every home.
Councillor Dave Trimble, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture, said: “The festive family fun day is a great opportunity for everyone to enjoy doing their Christmas shopping in beautiful surroundings while supporting the work of the nursery and the city’s parks.”
