Fixed Term For 6 Months The post holder will be responsible for the operational management of one of the three areas of Neighbourhood Fieldwork service. Providing supervision and all aspects of line management for Social Care Team managers. You will responsible for driving performance improvement and managing resources to provide an excellent service for children and families in Nottingham. They will contribute to the strategic development of the service. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: - You will need to be a qualified and registered Social Worker (or be willing to undertake registration) with evidence of post-qualifying learning in management development - Have a knowledge of government agenda, relevant legislation and the ability to lead to ensure effective team working to ensure the safety of children in the city - Excellent communication skills with the confidence and ability to chair legal planning meetings, provide reports, advice and guidance to a range of internal and external partners as required Enhanced DBS Check with Children & Adults Barring List Check will be needed For informal enquires please contact Deborah Millar Tel: 0115 8764897 or Email: (deborah.millar@nottinghamcity.gov.uk) To provide professional support, management and administration of a range of IT server infrastructures including UNIX and Storage Area Network (SAN), Citrix and VMware server platforms, Microsoft infrastructures, including Active Directory, Exchange and Internet, File and Print. To develop, design and deliver complex, cross platform technology solutions. To lead the teams in the management of applications supported on these environment ensuring both production and DR environments are kept current with patch and software releases. To manage third party application suppliers and where appropriate negotiate implementation delivery dates and supply of hardware and software ensuring impact to customers is minimised. To develop standards for supporting core server technologies and ensure colleagues adhere to set processes and policies, ensuring systems are designed for high resilience and availability. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: - Research and evaluate new tools and support software which may enhance the delivery of AIX and SAN database support, Citrix and VMware platforms and Microsoft, Internet, security technologies and File and Print in the management of infrastructure hardware and software. Develop effective working relationships with IT infrastructure suppliers - The provision of key performance reports on service delivery against industry performance indicators (SOCITM), internal service level agreements and operational level agreements on a regular basis for the Head of IT as required - Responsible for leading technical input into the design of council IT systems - Responsible for providing a technical lead in a demanding Server Infrastructure Function, supporting service requests and effectively managing resources with competing customer needs, whilst ensuring continuous service improvement through proactive working For informal enquires please contact Mark Smith Tel: 01158763211 or Email: (Mark.Smith@nottinghamcity.gov.uk) Fixed Term For 12 Months 2 posts available To provide professional support within Windows 2012 Migration Project, in migrating the legacy windows 2003 server estate to Windows 2012 R2 Hyper-V Application Datacenter environment. To work within a Project structure to migrate servers to an agreed time-line.
