Fixed Term for 24 months

The Council is seeking to recruit an experienced commercial property lawyer with extensive experience of regeneration projects to work within its Property and Conveyancing Team.

The role will mainly involve advising on sales and purchases of commercial property (both leasehold and freehold) but may also include some residential matters where site assembly is required. Many of the transactions will be high value and high profile and will require an ability to deal with officers at all levels of the Council. You will also need to be able to handle landlord and tenant matters as well as advise on property law generally.

The successful candidate will be experienced across all aspects of commercial property matters and able to handle a caseload of complex matters without supervision.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Qualified Solicitor.

- Highly experienced in all aspects of Property, Landlord and Tenant law.

- An ability to deal with councillors and officers at all levels of the organisation.

- Good negotiating and drafting skills.

You will be required to produce documents to a high standard with a minimum of 95% accuracy working to strict deadlines. In addition you will also be required to carry out document assimilation, collation and preparation largely unsupervised as well as pay and create invoices. Essential Requirements

 -  Previous experience of working in a legal environment (preferably Children and Adult related) is highly desirable. Experience of working with the courts

 -  Conversant in the use of Microsoft Office
