Rain will die away with some clear spells developing this evening, although the continued breeze will keep temperatures above zero, also thicker cloud will spread in from the south through the early hours which will allow Road Surface Temperatures (RSTs) to recover. Turning cloudy soon after midday on Friday with scattered showers, locally heavy and with a risk of hail and thunder, moving south across the area from 1300hrs. The showers will continue through the first half of the night with a risk of some sleet in heavier showers, however no accumulations are expected. It will also be breezy. Showers generally easing by midnight, with long clear spells following. A significantly colder night than during the autumn so far with RSTs falling close to or just below freezing quite widely, giving a risk of a few icy patches by the morning. Cold with sunny periods and a fresh northerly breeze on Saturday morning, with a low risk of isolated hail, sleet or snow showers (no accumulations expected). Minimum RSTs plus 1.
