As a HGV Fitter/Mechanic you would maintain, inspect, repair and test the City Councils and external customers’ vehicles and equipment to prescribed standards in accordance with the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency guide lines, manufacturer standards and the Councils Operator licence conditions.

The positions will be based at, Eastcroft Depot- London Road Nottingham. Flexibility of working hours is vital to our customer expectations and meeting service delivery targets. We require staff to work an extended day on shifts or nights (Plus allowances)

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- We are looking for applicants with a minimum of three years' experience of working in a Commercial or the Public Sector vehicles, and are qualified to the minimum NVQ3/City & Guilds or equivalent standards. MOT tester qualification would be an advantage.

- A current driving licence is essential, with an LGV category C preferred.

- The applicants must demonstrate knowledge of working on a wide range of vehicles, working on their own initiative to manufactures times, completing and operating maintenance systems both written and electronically.

- Attend additional training courses, work shifts and overtime.

- You may also be required to participate in the out of hours call out rota.

To be responsible for administration of the misuse and abuse of Blue Badges and a variety of on street parking permits. To liaise extensively with authorised Officers and internal departments with misuse and abuse of badges and permits. Investigate and compile reports and case files for prosecutions. To support the Compliance and Fraud Officer at PACE interviews and give evidence at court to support Blue Badge prosecutions as and when required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High standard of effective verbal and written communication
  2.  Be able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision in a highly confidential environment
  3. Good working knowledge of IT software
  4. Work accurately under pressure to meet deadlines
