To be responsible for the security and caretaking service to schools and other premises operated and maintained by Nottingham City Council, attending to intruder alarms where applicable and boarding up and making secure the building(s) following acts of vandalism.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Must undergo and pass a police check and have a full UK Driving Licence and own transport.

2. Knowledge of Health and Safety and Security practices.

3. Able to work as a team and unsupervised.

4. Experience of and ability to maintain records, log books, stock and timesheets.

Permanent – Full Time

Twenty fours a day, seven days a week shift pattern

Three posts available - Two posts are permanent and one secondment for one year.

The job would be an E grade if appropriate qualification held-Level three diploma in Residential Care or equivalent, or D otherwise. (Grade D will be paid at £17,372 - £19,742)

The job entails ensuring all the primary needs of Children and young people are met and they are safeguarded despite challenging and risky behaviour they may display. You will be required to develop positive relationships with the young people. To be able to communicate well and work with the young people, families and a wide network of professionals and accurately record this

To be expected to work in line with the relevant legislation policies and procedures.  To work with young people in all aspects of their lives in order to improve their outcomes. 

Essential Requirements

-       An understanding of social, cultural, physical and emotional needs of children, and why young people may display challenging behaviour. Showing an ability to motivate young people in order for them to develop personal and social skills.

-       To be able to work well in a team and show initiative as an individual working in an anti- discriminatory manner.

 -  . Flexibility in their working patterns following a rota of shifts including sleep-ins.

 - . Willingness to undertake training and development. You are required to undertake a level three diploma in Residential Care if you do not hold it, or an equivalent.
