This monthly newsletter aims to keep you informed on everything that's going on across Nottingham from walking, cycling, public transport and our Citycard savings to our Major Transport Projects

Broadmarsh Area proposals unveiled

On the 1st December 2015 proposals to dramatically transform and regenerate the Broadmarsh area of Nottingham city centre were unveiled.

The scheme is expected to boost the local economy by over £1 billion a year, create nearly 3,000 jobs for local people and attract an extra three million people a year into the city.

The plans are available for public viewing in the Lister Gate Square inside Intu Broadmarsh (across from Argos/BHS) until Tuesday 22nd December 2015.

Robin Hood smartcard 

The eagerly awaited Robin Hood pay-as-you-go travel smartcard launched on Monday the 14th December.

 

Currently available from Robin Hood Network ticket machines, the card will create a hassle-free, money-saving way of getting around Nottingham on bus or tram - even when using different transport operators.

UK Bus Awards

Congratulations to our Public Transport team who won the Gold Environment award at the UK Bus Awards on November 24th 2015. The electric bus partnership started in September 2012 in conjunction with trentbarton and Nottingham Community Transport. The fleet currently stands at 45 with an additional 13 on order from China to be delivered by September 2016.

Shopmobility

Shopmobility is a great free service provided by the City Council to help those with mobility issues access Nottingham city centre's shops and facilities with the free loan of self propelled or powered wheelchairs, and 3 and 4 wheeled scooters.
