Fixed Term for 12 months (maternity cover)

Overall city-wide responsibility for locality based Occupational Therapy services. The post holder is responsible for creating and maintaining efficient and effective prioritisation through Occupational Therapy assessments for social care services, for eligible children/young people and their carers.

To lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team to achieve and sustain high standards of performance and customer service.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced knowledge and understanding of relevant key policies, procedures, drivers and legislation in relation to the duties of the post.

A thorough understanding of, and ability to recognise and take action regarding, safeguarding issues.

Experience of leading, developing and motivating a team, to achieve targets and the highest standards of performance (including the effective use of IT systems and data).

Ability to analyse and creatively develop and manage service provision to meet the needs of a diverse range of citizens and carers.

Hold a recognisable qualification in Occupational Therapy and be registered with Health Professionals Council.

Working with children and young people aged 0-19 with physical and / or learning disabilities and challenging behaviour; you will be part of a multi disciplinary team delivering services to Nottingham City.
The role entails working with children, young people and families within their home environments, including foster care and short breaks placements, to enable independence, safety and access to essential facilities.
You will complete individual assessments of need, including specialist postural management; moving and handling and risk assessments leading to the development of multi-faceted care plans. These will include the provision of equipment; minor and major adaptations; postural management seating; moving and handling guidance and equipment; safety interventions and support with rehousing, in line with departmental policy and procedure.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Substantial experience of working within Paediatric and / or Socal Care Occupational Therapy.
Ability to carry out the most complex community care assessments of need and develop multi faceted care packages.
Full understanding of equipment and adaptations in relation to promoting independence.  
Substantial experience of Postural Management assessment.

Consult with managers, heads of service and directors, identifying, recommending, implementing and evaluating a range of solutions to resolve organisational problems. Build effective relationships with client services and seek to fully understand context, barriers, constraints and influences in order to co-design sustainable change that meets organisational objectives.
Drive a whole-systems approach to change within departments, bringing in relevant stakeholders where processes have touch-points or impacts beyond the client service to ensure sustainable solution.
Train, coach and equip managers with the necessary skills and knowledge required to manage the development and completion of change processes, and to commission development support from the wider HR & Transformation service where required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge and understanding of change models, methods, tools and techniques

Ability to analyse complex issues and problems and devise and implement effective, creative and innovative solutions.

Experience of successfully developing and implementing change projects that have demonstrably contributed to improved service delivery

Ability to communicate and engage with a diverse range of people using appropriate means and ability to build strong relationships at all levels and to  negotiate and influence effectively

The post will require working with teams across City Council sites and require travel.

Working in partnership with Nottinghamshire Police to create a safe and clean environment across Nottingham City, a number of exciting opportunities have arisen in Nottingham City Council’s Community Protection department. 

As a Community Protection Officer you will perform a unique and innovative role.

You will build strong links with your communities and deal with local issues at a local level; your neighbourhoods will know you and you’ll know them. 

As a CPO, each day is different to the one before. This isn’t a desk job; you will spend 85% of your time out on the streets ensuring you're visible and proactively interacting with the community. You will work a shift pattern including weekends and evenings for which you will receive enhanced pay for.  You will conduct street patrols within designated areas of the City, aimed at tackling criminal activity, dealing with environmental crime and anti-social behaviour using delegated powers, acting as a capable guardian of the City.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Appreciation of the legislation and skills necessary in using enforcement powers (issuing fixed penalty notices) including the ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014

• Ability to deal with enforcement situations tactfully and diplomatically.

• Written communication skills in order to record actions.

• Ability to keep manual and computerised records.

The post holder will have lead responsibility for the development of strategy and policy relating to the employment and skills agenda in Nottingham, providing an advisory role for lead councillors and senior management and influencing funding decisions and ensuring alignment across the D2N2 area.

They will work closely with partners to develop strategies that ensure that the local labour market meets the needs of the Nottingham economy, particularly within priority sectors. Managing the employment and skills strategy team, they will be responsible for the delivery of key policy areas such as raising employability skills and graduate retention and will commission activity accordingly.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Knowledge of employment and skills related interventions and structures and the funding models associated with them.

2. Ability to develop and lead direct service provision for measurable impact on the City

3. Experience of research, analysis and policy making in economic development preferably in an employment and skills context.

4. Evidence of leading strategy development and in implementing strategic responses within a partnership context.

Join our teaching team in this unique provision designed to support Nottingham City schools by meeting the needs of newly-arrived Year 11 students who are in the early stages of learning English.


Teach and review learning activities for students who are beginners to English to ensure that they make progress with their English language skills.
Jointly plan with class teacher and prepare suitably differentiated teaching resources.
Prepare teaching resources and activities which reflect the languages, cultures and experiences of the students.
Support the induction of new students throughout the year.
Work with colleagues to assess the on-going academic, pastoral needs and progress of students.
Develop positive communication and partnership with students’ parents/carers.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

- Level 3 teaching assistant qualification

- Evidence of being a strong classroom practitioner

- Successful experience of teaching, understanding and knowledge of English as an additional language

- Understanding of and empathy with the experience of EAL learners and their families

Enhanced DBS Check with Children’s Barring List Check (regulated activity with Children)

The location will change from Djanogly City Academy to Ellis Guilford School later in the academic year
