Closing date: 30 October 2015

Vacancy: Trading Standards Investigator

Fixed Term until 31st March 2017

Salary: £20,253 - £22,937

Nottingham City Council Community Protection Trading Standards Service

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, confident individual to join a small and friendly Trading Standards team, which is recognised for its excellent working partnerships, being in a unique position based in a City Centre police station.  We are committed to improving the quality of life for citizens, businesses and visitors to Nottingham with a focus on safety in all its various aspects. Although geographically a small City, the Service enjoys a strong local and regional profile, achieving high impact results with limited resources.

You will be recognised and valued, and feel that you are making a significant contribution to the welfare of local vibrant communities.  We will rely on you to adopt an intelligence led approach to investigate criminal offences, including fraud, and carry out appropriate project work.

You will be an experienced investigator, with a sound knowledge of all relevant legislative areas. You must be able to demonstrate substantial experience of investigating a wide range of complex criminal offences within an organised crime and/or e-crime arena.

For this position you will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic, with a genuine commitment to achieve. This is a full time position and is subject to full Police vetting. This is an opportunity for a confident and experienced officer, with strong investigative and interpersonal skills,  to demonstrate how they can make a difference.

The postholder will be on a 24/7 contract.  Some early morning and late night work will be required, usually with notice give.

The successful candidate will be subject to an NPPV (Non-Police Personnel Vetting)

The closing date is noon on Friday 30th October 2015.

Interview date: 12th November 2015

For informal enquiries only, please contact Fiona Needham, Principal Trading Standards Officer on 0115 8445018.
